When we first arrived in Rockport, for my father to pastor First Assembly, there was no parsonage, and no place reasonably priced for us to live. My father swallowed his pride, and went to ever businessman in Rockport and said, "If I can get the donations from the businessmen of this town, I will build with my own hands a place for my family to live in." The town came through with $5000 in donations, and my day, and me, a 10 year old boy, built a nice 3 bedroom house that still sits beside the church today.
